Background
Jenoptik AG, an integrated optoelectronics group active across the semiconductor, automotive, medical, security, defence and aviation industries, has acquired Vysionics Ltd, the UK market leader in automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) traffic enforcement.
About the transaction
The acquisition of Vysionics Ltd was completed for an undisclosed sum and strengthens Jenoptik’s position in security and traffic enforcement technologies. The transaction expands Jenoptik’s technology portfolio and reinforces its presence in the UK market.

Jenoptik AG is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and employs approximately 3,500 people, generating sales of around €600 million in 2013. Vysionics Ltd is based in the UK and is a leading provider of ANPR solutions used in traffic enforcement and security applications.
